Related: About this forumUkraine's Military Reforms Stall as Russian Threat Grows - Eastern Express - TVP WORLD
This episode of "Eastern Express" examines Ukraine's ongoing military restructuring from brigade-based command to a NATO-style corps system, announced in November 2024. The reform aims to improve coordination and efficiency, but remains "half-built" a year latermost corps command only 1-2 brigades instead of the intended 2-5, lack necessary support assets, and struggle with manpower shortages due to desertion and mobilization challenges.
Defense correspondent Stefan Korshack explains that constant Russian pressure forces Ukraine to shuffle units to plug gaps, preventing proper corps consolidation, while tension exists between field commanders (who've learned effective tactics through experience) and higher leadership (focused on discipline and hierarchy).
The episode also notes that Ukrainian officers believe their combat experience against Russia is more valuable than some NATO doctrines, which could complicate future NATO integration, and covers related news including updates on US peace plan negotiations and the persecution of anti-war Russian artists.

(31,620 posts)1. Here we go again with these, Ukraine is losing the war.
I consider these border line right wing talking points.
Have you posted the biggest news about the war in recent days? The battle for Pokrovsk? Russia needs to capture that small town because it is their gateway for supplies and reinforcements, and they need to do it before winter.

I did not mean to offend you, I am truly sorry, you do excellent reporting about the war.
The right is pushing the narrative that Ukraine is losing the war and so it should agree to Krasnov's surrender deal. I overreact when I see a thread that points out a problem that Ukraine is facing, even though it is most likely true.
Keep posting about the war, again, I apologize.
