(16,455 posts)Open-ended military occupation?
There already is the BDS-movement. If Israel keeps going, it will lose more and more foreign support and sympathy.
Two-State-solution?
Not feasible unless both sides are happy with the deal. And that won't happen. The Westbank-settlers are religious extremists. And the Palestinians want their land back as a matter of principle.
One-State-solution?
I wondered why Israel wouldn't just agree to a One-State-solution... Until I read that the Palestinian Authority dedicated a school to the planner of the 1972 terror-attack on the jewish athletes at the Olympic Games in Munich. There is no peaceful coexistence with such people.
I think, what Netanyahu is doing right now is making life as bad as possible for the Palestinians to force them to emigrate. That's why they keep building illegal settlements in the Westbank: encourage "self-deportation".
Like the great Humungus in Mad Max II said: "Go away. Just go away."
It's a desperate plan, no better than any other and bad in its own right.
In hindsight, that problem should have been solved at the very beginning, when Israel was founded. Not decades later. Now it's too late.

(30,109 posts)...badk in 2000 and they still take up < 2% of W.Bank land today. This notion that settlements are expanding to such an extent as to make 2 states impossible is fiction.
If the Palestinians accepted the Clinton Plan like Israel did back in 2000 and were genuine about peace, Israelis would overwhelmingly be for it too. Unfortunately, the PA/Hamas do not and have never wanted their own state alongside a Jewish one, as the PA battle against Balfour for the next year proves.

Might that be a reason Israelis refuse trading land for more violence & war?
Gee, I wonder...

Terror is the major reason there's not 2 states now.Intifada 2 (2000-01).
Thousands dead when Israel had just offered the Palestinians their own state, free of occupation & settlements with half of Jerusalem.
Gaza pullout (2005).
Tens of thousands of rockets since.
Abbas' Stabbing Intifada (2015).
This time, E. Jerusalem Palestinians within Israel doing the attacks.
Do you think it's funny pretending terror & Palestinian hostility towards the existence of any Jewish state plays no part in the absence of a 2 state solution? Israel cannot make peace because it has no partner willing to call off terror attacks & make peace with the Jewish state.

(30,109 posts)There's no chance the PA/Hamas turn into decent folk who will stop inciting/killing Jews & recognize a Jewish state.
You won't even recognize a Jewish state, so what makes you think they will? The BDS you support justifies terror and mass murder of Jews, making you part of an odious problem you think is just some temporary insignificant snag (that goes back a century well before the occupation) that will just magically disappear.
Who do you think you're fooling?

(30,109 posts)Ignoring, denying, or minimizing PA/Hamas genocidal intent towards Jews is basically another form of Holocaust denial.
But that's BDS, isn't it? Justifying & supporting terror as well...
