You squat on government land, you're moved off and told to move to the permitted areas. I'm pretty sure that most of us think that this is the right thing to do. Just consider last year's actions and reactions in eastern Oregon.

In the US, this usually means "find your own place to be, just clear out." In the case of the Bedouin, the difference is that they say, "Here's the land you were given for this purpose decades ago, and buildings we put up for you" but everybody says that they have a right to squat.

I guess that's "Jewish construction" that they're being given. Or they can build additional structures on the land provided.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?

This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.

Tell me more...
