I told the true story of the now- ancient local public health nurse who used to see women come into her office in sepsis and on the brink of death with lots of little kids trailing along.
The only argument that pierced the veil was asking is it right or wrong to leave those little babies without a mother from death by sepsis?
To explain to them that we already know what happens when an abortion is legal; that does not end abortion, it ends safe legal abortion. It puts women in danger of their lives and they die sometimes we already know what happens when it’s illegal. We already tried that. It definitely did not work and that is why conservatives worked to help planned parenthood, including George HW Bush help people get birth control.

(2,562 posts)Many in the anti-choice community aren’t trying to keep women from sinning. In their minds they are trying to prevent the murder of an innocent life.
Either they honestly believe that ninth month (or even post) abortions are rampant, or that an undifferentiated cluster of cells (or even a single sperm/egg) is a real person. The state of the mother’s soul (or even health) doesn’t enter into the equation.
I don’t mean to be a party pooper, or attack the OP. I’m sorry if this is overly critical.

(27,645 posts)Next to a picture of a pro choice rally my sister in law posted “women protest for right to kill their children”
She got several “amens” all women. That is what’s been pounded into their heads and why they think Democrats are “evil”
That was a few years ago I don’t see much of her these days.

(39,369 posts)How about one with a border of AR15s, a big pic of an elementary school, & text below that reads, BEEN TO A GUN PROTEST RECENTLY? This love for the almighty fetus is perverted when living, breathing children are dying or losing their mothers to death because of these people's religious beliefs.
There. Maybe that's the best sign of all.

(39,369 posts)Assuming one believes in God, which apparently many of them do since they insist on making this a moral issue. Interesting how little kids getting gunned down in school almost every week isn't a moral issue.

(732 posts)Okay for post-born to starve, experience malnutrition, drink water from lead pipes, play in areas where raw sewage sits above ground, experience hearing loss due to no medical coverage - I could go on. The main reason is the "domestic supply of infants" - meaning white babies who can be sold for a profit. "Religious" institutions suffered a severe loss of revenue after Roe v. Wade. There are plenty of children that need a loving home but most aren't a "fit".

I am saying that the majority of anti-choice activists think they are preventing murders.
I’m emphatically pro-choice. While I don’t know for sure the exact moment a the cluster of cells is a person, it definitely isn’t six weeks. And if a rare late term abortion seems needed, it’s not my call about whether or not to carry it out.
