The US is one of only four countries to impose stricter abortion laws since the 1990s. On a global level, more than 50 countries have enacted laws expanding the legality of abortion since 1994. Only El Salvador, Nicaragua, Poland and now several US states have decided to impose further restrictions.

In the 'land of the free' women's reproductive freedoms and rights are more restrained in some states that Iran... That is how fucked up the far right cray cray that has taken hold of state governance and SCOTUS has become... IRAN people. Women in Iran have better access to reproductive health care choices than a female in one of the trigger states might be.

The plan to overturn abortion rights in Europe

In total, $81.3 million worth of funding flowed from U.S. donors to help fund activism against abortion and other conservative causes between 2009 and 2018, according to a report compiled by the European Parliamentary Forum for Sexual and Reproductive Rights (EPF), a pro-abortion access network that connects members across European parliaments with a liberal stance on sexual and reproductive rights.

EPF Executive Director Neil Datta called the U.S. Supreme Court decision the result of a multidecade campaign by Christian conservatives to influence the American judicial system. Now the same is happening in Europe, said Datta.

“We're just at a much earlier stage in the process than the United States.”

2. An anti-abortion rights drive will meet with outright hostility in Europe

It would be scrutinized and torn apart by the press in France, Germany, the UK, Scandinavia and the Netherlands. In France, foreign agents of an anti-abortion-rights drive would be well-advised to plan brief stays with heavy hired security, lest the French do some late abortions of their own.

It far more difficult to reverse enlightenment than to prevent it.

Meanwhile, here in the U.S., I'm wondering abortion is actually still allowed in all states "to save the woman's life"? Or if it will be for much longer?

So many draconian laws are being passed all the time, I can't keep up!
