(6,129 posts)where many people are present. When I go to any large store, there are several hundred people there, and for sure a handful are infected without symptoms. So I am continually getting exposed to the virus, and building natural immunity all the time.
If the virus inhaled is small quantity, we will not show symptoms. However even asymptomatic virus inhalation produces additional immunity. This happens with all viruses, not just covid. This is basically known as herd immunity.
We all needed the vaccines at the beginning of pandemic when covid arrived, because none of us had any immunity from previous exposure. I was full vaccinated 8 months ago, and I have resumed normal life with regular visits to restaurants, stores and going on cruises. So in my opinion, I may not need 3rd shot of vaccine. My body gains immunity with exposure all the time.

(48,776 posts)got the booster and just recently started going to restaurants. Not to the gym yet, though it is getting too cold and icy to walk outside. We still wear masks to the grocery stores.
And covid cases are soaring all around us.

Her immune system has to be very weak. Me on the other hand with 25 minutes workout every day in nearby private community gym, feeling stronger and better at 81 than I did at age 51. I may skip the booster.

(50,877 posts)Covid will rage around the world, mutating like it did with the Delta variant, until vaccines tamp it right down.
But that takes mass immunization around the world.

(12,930 posts)Make it last longer.
Every 6 months seems difficult to follow through with if theyre busy or have kids.
For me I'll get it every 6 months.
And not get my flu shot at the same time as my covid shot again.
I was miserable when I did that. Learned my lesson..😿
