The mask debacle

Even when mask mandates are repealed, I feel that wearing washable and/or disposable mask in grocery stores and especially in crowded, confined spaces remains a good all around health conscious idea.
I can't help but wonder if those who had such tantrums about public health measures such as masks, not to mention vaccinations will finally dawn on this ilk that they rebelled against nothing but partisan bullshit.
There's so much perilous ignorance perpetuated primarily by Republicans that someday will become glaringly obvious as malicious, lethal lies.
At 62 and in some compromised health it's fairly unlikely I'll personally see the full day of reckoning about climate change. But in a few years when the vaccinated haven't succumbed to idiotic notions of organs dissolved, crystallized etc. that the RWNJ carnival barkers have broadcast their doom and gloom messages, will it dawn on these lemmings they were wrong, yet some of their loved ones are still dead due to their insolence? Time will tell.

Theirs is a culture that encourages people to be considerate of others, so people wear masks when they don't feel well so they don't make others sick. https://web-japan.org/trends/11_culture/pop202008_mask-culture.html In the US we care only about ourselves; at least that's what our culture promotes. I think I'll keep doing what they do in Japan even when (if?) the pandemic is over. I haven't had even a mild cold in two years, so something is working.

Local hospital is still full. About 45% vax rate in county. Masks are rare, even with employees.

If people won't look out for each other, then we all have to look out for ourselves.

which is rare. I wear 2 KN95 masks at doc's offices.

I sort of like wearing them. For one thing, I don't have to worry about spinach in my teeth.

But I also feel a lot safer from Covid, other illnesses, and at least some of the stench people like to slather all over themselves. I also like that I'm probably not spreading something I might have. So for me, they're here to stay.

next summer when we're walking around in shorts and t-shirts without hardware stuck all over us from the magnetism.

JFC, those people are stupid.
