I like to get my vaccine later so I'll be covered in the spring. I use this map every week to see if I can hold on until Nov.

This year's flu is a really bad one. I basically lost August, something I wouldn't ordinarily object to, but it was really bad.

3. Per the map, my state is already moderate-high.

I got mine last week, same day as COVID #5. Good call, I guess.

4. A few years ago, I got mine in Sept.

Didn't hit my area until March and I got it in April.
Looks like if you live in D.C. you better get it now.

7. I'm confused the CDC map says the 2021/2022 flu season.

What we are concerned about is the 2022/2023 flu season which starts this fall season.

The 2021/2022 flu season was last year's flu season.

13. The season ends with the last week in September so we are still in 2021-22 season

The map will soon change to show the 2022-23 season starting with the first full week in October

... covid omicron in our left arm and influenza in our right arm.

11. exact opposite for me.

I had them put the flu in my left arm simply because it was a larger dose and I don't use my left arm. As expected, left arm was about twice as sore,

I have only had flu maybe 3 or 4 times in my 73 almost 74 years; I only started taking flu shots in 1999 when I worked at a children's hospital and was required to get it. Now I get it every year.

Did you get all the pneumonia shots too ?

As we age our immune systems are not quite as robust as when younger. So these shots help fight off serious and potentially very debilitating respiratory ailments.

I have had other respiratory things which dropped into my chest and made me pretty sick but not flu. The last one of those was maybe 18 years ago.
