I want to tell you about SIRVA -- the result of bad needle placement in vaccination.

Here is the medical article.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6347325/

And this is my experience. Five weeks after flu shot, I am still having debilitating pain in left shoulder. I recall at the time of the incident the tech (not a nurse but a floating lab tech at the clinic) came up from behind me and evidently did not feel for the right spot.

I have had a bad experience with this tech previously -- she had to stick me three times to find a vein about a year ago, and then did not send the sample for the proper test the doctor had ordered.

Anyway...... This is something you do not want. It's affecting my sleep, and everyday movements. It may or may not go away. Not a bad idea to caution someone who is about to poke you to be sure to find the right place and trajectory.

I literally screamed when she gave me the injection. By the next day, I couldn’t raise my left arm. Took six months for it to get back to normal.

Mine isn't that bad. The first few days I assumed it was just the usual discomfort. But then it didn't go away, and got worse.

to make sure that is what happened. there are treatments for it.

I'd tell the Dr. you will not allow that tech near you again and, if not you'll find a new doc.

best of luck with your recovery. Last 2 times I gave blood at the Red Cross they butchered me. Never had any problems with my MidMich Techs..

She is not US born, Engish not first language. I know from twenty years experience at this clinic that is associated with university teaching hospital that I would NOT want to be thought prejudiced by that. I'm not. The one time I did report a clerical staffer who had flat-out lied to me, I was accused of prejudice.

So. That aside, my doc told me to come in for an evaluation. Appointments are VERY hard to come by (months out) -- I will have to go to urgent care if I want anything done about it.

So few know about this & it is life altering.
I’ve know several nurses who had it.
And, yes it does matter who is giving the jab-
most pharmacists, nurses aids do not have a lot of experience with giving injections & imo should not be doing this.

There is a sight that gives legal advice for those who are disabled & unable to work because of sirva.
