Big words, small words. Piece looks wrong to me, shouldn't it be peice (as an example). I had Covid for the second time back in March, I wonder if that is the cause?

(34,057 posts)I was born with it. Its on the language spectrum. Hand writing, spelling and reading.
While I majored in psychology, I learned about it from one of my Anthropology professors.

(34,578 posts)But I notice it. When I type a word, it just seems wrong right away, so I have to google the word.

(34,057 posts)That prof explained to me, if the message is conveyed, the spelling is correct and can be called alternative spelling. The bad part for me is handwriting. I cant read my own. Years of practice didnt help. Same with spelling, but I have no problems with reading.

(26,719 posts)Also, the rule is: i before e, except after c, or when pronounced like a, as in neighbor or weigh. There are several other exceptions in that rule, but I only know it thus far.
