Started watching "Spaceman."

Normally try to avoid anything with Adam Sandler in it like the plague. But I've been impressed in as few of the dramatic films he's made lately. He was good in "Uncut Gems." I'm about 45 minutes into this one and it's pretty good so far.

Anyone else?

Like you, I have had a low tolerance for Sandler but have been impressed with some of his more recent stuff. Was intrigued when I read the listing on this program. Now, I will give it a try.

I avoid him so hard, but then watched Uncut Gems and realized he can act in non-stupid roles. Clicked on Spaceman and as soon as I saw his name nearly clicked out, but then remembered Uncut Gems, so I stayed. Watched it last night but now I can't recall if I saw the ending, lol. I maybe fell asleep, or maybe turned it off when it was getting boring. I'll check later during my video time.

I’ll finish it in my own. I liked the alien’s philosophical standpoint.

Spaceman of Bohemia, which the movie is based on, out of the library, hoping you would review the movie for us before I finish the book. It seems that is working out.

initially: Sandler, no fucking way.
then of course as we are in the peak enshittification of streaming, there is fuck all else to watch
reluctantly fire up spaceman and almost bail but don't
and now I'm about halfway through and it ain't bad at all

uncut gems was interesting but I found it difficult to 'like' as I detested just about every character, especially Sandler's character. It was an excellently crafted film, but a very cringing experience to watch.

Especially Sandler's character. But I think that the sign of a decent actor, when he can make you hate him.
