Although not formally a member of this group I posted in one of the threads, and I hope that's ok.

If not, I will delete.

For the record, I grew up as a single child in a home with an alcoholic parent. I've struggled with the results of that for over 45 years.

...with your struggle Adsos I grew up in the same type environment and understand. I managed to avoid one cycle only to fall into a different one. 🙂

All of us here have had to deal with the effects of addiction in one way or another. One thing that I've learned during 10 years in AA is that it's important and helpful to talk about it - especially with those with similar experiences.

I'm also a member of ACOA, Adult Children of Alcoholics. Some in the group I attend also belong to AA, some don't - and not everyone had alcoholic parents, some just grew up in dysfunctional families. Anyone who's struggling with these issues - and some were long ago - are welcome there.

If you're interested in reading more about it or seeing if there's a group in your area, here's the link. In the meantime, I hope you feel comfortable in this group. You're among friends here.

and we hope you stay and post. No formal requirements for this group.

I started in Overeaters Anonymous, and now attend OA and AA regularly. From time to time, I attend other 12 steps meetings. It doesn't matter if you ever attended any groups at all, you are welcome here....as we have heard before.....Take What You Like and Leave the Rest..
