Related: About this forumSunday evenings are still tough for me.
I've been clean for 8 months but once in a while I struggle on Sunday nights. Especially now that it's getting nice out. I enjoyed having a vodka and tonic or two (or more) out on the patio while having dinner. It's usually okay, but once in a while, it's tough. Any tips?

Good luck and stay safe.

And then think about how 'bad' the situation is ... sitting out on the porch on a warm spring evening enjoying dinner. Not exactly what one would call stressful or 'bad', right?
Picking up, with that as your excuse ... would probably qualify as one of the worst excuses ever, wouldn't you say?
Agree with the other suggestions as well. Talk to your sponsor, if you don't have one, get one. Plan to attend a Sunday evening meeting either before or after dinner, assuming one's available. If not, resolve to read a few pages of some inspirational literature/Big Book/Living Sober booklet, etc, before dinner.
The fact that you're identifying a particular source of stress/trigger, that's excellent. Now leverage that knowledge to help guide you towards doing the next right thing ... which means being proactive in the ways described in the thread.
Good luck, and keep on keeping on

(10,486 posts)Join a gym, exercise, meetings, maybe take a sponsee and do your meetings with them on Sunday evenings if "X"A is your thing. Helping others really works on many levels, not the least of which is getting out of your own head.
Stick with it and keep sharing.
