Before this I need to say I use an android phone, with a maybe a 3in by 4in screen, not a computer monitor where I can enlarge images. That said

@16:08 ish & 22:58 he takes a drink from a glass like the one in the tweet.The liquid looks brownish on my screen to my eyes.
If he is drinking water in public, he needs to ostentatiously only drink from bottles he uncaps in front of cameras.

So I cannot give you a 100% answer.

It changes color based on his blue suit shown through it at one point, but the tweet picture of a brown liquid looks to be altered.

3. Drinking on the job

That has been cause for immediate termination of employment in all the jobs that I've held. Unless you are a taster at a winery or such, I suppose.

Wouldn't a tumbler or a bottle of water be what you'd expect? Aren't there security concerns about the Secretary of Defense drinking from an open and accessible drinking vessel?

Honestly, you'd think Pete Hegseth, of all people, would be aware of the dangers of someone spiking your drink with roofies.
