Cancer Support
Related: About this forumNot good treatment
My wife had a biopsy last October. The specimen was to have genetic testing to help determine treatment options.
We have seen no results.
During her second follow-up visit this week, she was told the results were delayed because she had not signed the consent forms for the test.
As they prepared for her to sign a consent, they found the form she signed last year.
This is six months after the surgery last October.
I do not have the words to express my feelings.

(859 posts)one thing I learned is that one needs to advocate for themselves or a loved one. Wishing a good outcome for your wife, also agree about finding another provider in the area that specializes in the area of concern. You can also check out some groups, there is help to navigate the process if something is suspected. I'm familiar with the LLS and Hope Lodge ... be loud and a pain.

(459 posts)Without exposing myself to lawsuits, the hospital was one of the top rated cancer treatment centers.
We repeatedly asked for the results and got vague promises and explanations of the complexity of the testing process.
We are now told the results have been completed but it will take another week or two to compile the final report.
Someone fucked up and the system didn't notice. Plus no one dug into it enough to find the holdup.
We were just another anxious patient interrupting their work.
