Well, Hell....the damn sinus infection isn't gone and now my tooth hurts!!!
My upper tooth on the left side has been a little iffy for a while, now the damn sinuses are pushing on in and my whole upper jaw feels swollen and throbbing... it's not even IN the tooth, but the sinuses are just not getting better.
Did a whole round of antibiotics, and even acupuncture on Thursday... Now I'm gonna have to go back to the ER and tell them I'm still not okay...
Since the clinic for medi-CAL is usually booked and the same day appts option is gone...the ER is my only choice. this sucks.
Hopefully it won't be too busy on a Sunday afternoon. I am gonna try and see if hot tea helps. I took my benadryl and tylenol, even threw in my gabapentin for my back nerves thinking they might help the face nerves too.
I'm seriously thinking of throwing EVERYTHING I got at it by now...I got valium and weed gummies, I could get sideways and see if it helps. Then go to the ER later. Gonna take a steam shower and let it pound on my face for a minute...
UGH...I am so tired of my body trying to Kill me... THIS is the chronic autoimmune shit people don't understand...this sinus infection will fester in my face longer and wreak havoc throughout my whole body ...because I'm not normal.
I am too young to feel this old.
This is why I feel like I'm a failure, etc...can't even function enough to do more than scoop the litter box and feed the damn cats... who will eat my face when I die... alone.

(3,131 posts)The first time i did it when I had an active infection, it was incredible. Blew out lots of gunk and felt much better. When there's an active infection going on, a person can do it 2-3 times a day.
Here's some respected resources on it (not just a rando from DU):

Picking up a NeilMed sinus rinse kit at the pharmacy or Costco is a great way to start. Pick up some distilled water for mixing. Don't use tap water unless you boil it first and let it cool.

(262 posts)One time I had to have a procedure, during which the ENT went up my nose and physically opened the sinus passages to promote drainage. It was the only thing that helped, in the end.

(39,211 posts)I took amoxicillin and z pac. Finally, it went away after my last dose of amoxicillin. I have a little bit of congestion now, but its nothing like it was. I hope you get better soon. Its hard not to be downhearted these days.
