well, the adoptees might just be the most fun part of all this.

got a message back from a dna cousin in australia today. sent them a message asking if they were dwyers. got back that she is an adoptee, and has no idea.
she has to be a dwyer because as far as i have seen, they are the only relatives i have that landed there.

how fun to tell a displaced 85 yo 100% irish woman that she is descended from such a hero.

It's not every adoptee's cup of tea but I know after a lifetime of wondering, next to finding my bio families and getting a copy of my original birth certificate, finally being able to learn about my genetic ancestry has been amazing.

unfortunately, all we know is i am on her da's side. 3rd-5th cousin, and boy are we peas in a pod.
trying to get her to take the 23/me test, cuz their tree function maps your genetic cousins.
