I've tapped into an otherwise obscure branch of my paternal side of the family.

Specifically, descendants of the sister of my father's father. A slew of second cousins.

AND THEY'RE ALL LIBERAL PROGRESSIVES.

I couldn't be happier.

Postscript: I found my great grandmother's grave in Altoona, PA (mother of my father's father). And I realized we all were related to her. Very very cool.
