4. Been doing tri-racial genealogy for 25 years and rumors are not genealogy.

Plus using the science of DNA (not his someone else's) to say what ethnic makeup Lincoln is means someone has an agenda. Genealogists don't do that, scientists don't do that.

That leaves???.

BTW Why are you taking personally a critique of someone else's shoddy journalism? If Lincoln's DNA or in a cousins line shows a link then they have an avenue to possibly pursue. Until then there are only rumors that started in the 1850's and we try not to put much stock in rumors on DU even old ones.

3. I was wondering how to word that

I'm not sure if I'm sensitive to the whole 'one drop of blood' theory that Southerners used to oppress African-Americans for years, but the title struck me wrong.

Obama identifies as a black man (though he's of mixed race). Abraham Lincoln identified as a white man and reclassifying his race because he mother may have had African ancestors just feels wrong to me. Like the Latter Day Saints baptizing Anne Frank...
