This could be good or bad. If google buys it and makes it cheaper/free it would be outstanding.
If some private equity firm ends up with it, it will be more expensive and not worth subscribing (which i was just planning on. 6mo at $13mo is just about affordable)

buys Ancestry.com, I think there could be some major privacy concerns, as they would have access to information about the "living" people on the member contributed trees that the public cannot view.

Like you said, this could be good or bad, hopefully good. No one else has data bases equivalent to Ancestry.com.
