If you are doing research in Scotland

You may already know this, but I just recently found it and had monumental success with it. www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk
I found birth, marriage and probate records. The index is free but to view a document has a fee. You purchase credits, initial purchase is 30 credits for $7UK which is about $11US I think. I viewed a 5 page probate inventory from 1837 for 5 credits. Other records are one credit. When you view the document, you can save it to your computer for later analysis. Good luck.

I have a couple of lines I need to get info from Scotland. I'm bookmarking this site for checking out when I get to those families.

Thank you!
