Kids are on a artisan sourdough mission

One of my daughter's friends gave her starter, and she's been making bread the last 2 weeks. When my other daughter was home, she got some of starter and she's made 2 loaves this week. I used to bake sourdough, but never went to a lot of trouble to get a good loaf. They are both watching videos and getting tips on how to get a perfect loaf. Is anyone else making artisan sourdough loaves?

1. The lady in front of me at the grocery store...

was buying a big jar of Jalapeños, 2 big blocks of Sharp Cheddar and a bag of flour.
I asked her what she was making. She said, "Jalapeño Cheddar Sourdough bread."
I said.."Yum"

2. I make sourdough, but recently murdered my starter culture...

I keep a jar of dehydrated starter in the pantry because I have killed it before. I probably won’t restart it again until fall. But I recommend to dehydrate a bunch of it and keep it in a sealed jar because life gets busy sometimes and it’s easy to forget to feed it…unlike dogs and cats, the sourdough won’t remind you it’s time to feed it!
