Went out in my woods yesterday to check on

my secret hosta garden and walked up on this along side of my trail.

1. What a treasure find.

Sauteed with butter, salt and pepper plans?

5. Sliced in half, sprinkled with flour, skillet fried,

baked sweet potato, corn and a ribeye off the grill. That was our dinner tonight. Now I need to go find some more mushrooms for breakfast.

3. I could gaze on those mushrooms all day.

So textural! They are truly AMAZING.

4. Hostas! We have hostas.

Or I should say we had hostas. They come up in the spring but the deer love them.

6. Deer love to eat them. I toss chunks of Irish Spring

soap near them and that seems to keep them away.

7. Yeah, I've gone through a dozen bars of Irish Spring.

I would run the Irish Spring through a cheese grater and sprinkle on the leaves. Inevitably, it will rain and it'll wash off and the deer come back.

I've had good luck with chili powder on my tiger lilies (deer like the buds just before they open up) so I bought a huge container of chili powder to try on the hostas this year. My back yard will have a new scent this year!
