What happens when you add a high level fertilizer to a Christmas or Easter Cactus?

I brought two of my mother in law's favorite plants back to life and now I may have goofed. I was using Cactus fertilizer for them for years and they were doing quite well. Then, in one of those sunstroke moments that only gardeners know I accidentally selected Miracle Gro's single fertilizer application. This is the stuff I use for my tropical bloomers. Will one application make a difference in the long run?

1. I suspect it will be fine - maybe the plants will have a hangover in the morning!

Did you look at the various N-P-K proportions of each? I'll bet they aren't all that much different.

2. It should be fine.

If you are really worried about it run a couple gallons of water through the pot to remove most of the fertilizer, but I have watered them with it before without noticeable damage.

4. I didn't throw in that much more water, but I did add some more to hope to dilute the chems.

3. If the label doesn't sound like good news

Flush the dirt well and wash out what you can.
