(30,151 posts)and when I get the burn piles down and the grass mowed, I'll take pics of my garden. It is not nearly so neat as yours! I spend my time trying to shore the whole thing up, but we got 3/4 of the water system working, so it's going to get much much easier when it is all done and I can go about the business of gardening.

(11,681 posts)I've still got my old well pump hooked up to use on the gardens.
NW AR is beautiful this time of year! Eureka Springs is just gorgeous.
Can't wait to see your pic!!!

(7,888 posts)I especially liked the geometric (stained glass?) artwork you displayed next to the plants.

(11,681 posts)I got that metal/glass thingy at a flea market. Most of my plants are clippings and roots from my grandparents old place. The spirea I bought at Lowe's in their "hospital" section lol. It's the only one of three that made it.

(11,681 posts)Especially when it rains. Rosemary is supposed to stimulate the brain with its scent. (If I'm any indication of this theory, it doesn't work )

(10,402 posts)I had to get a big maple cut down on my backyard so am doing some serious planting with native plants. I have to have patience though as these puny plants I am getting will take years to mature. I did get a whole plan and plants for a 100 sq foot pollinator garden, but again, will have to wait for maturity.
Peace

(11,681 posts)Every year, your plants will grow and change the view from your window.
I've been working my place for about 15 years. I sometimes find surprises that I forgot I planted! Like when I trimmed up the wisteria and found a whole bunch of tiger lilies!
Edit to add that I had 36 pines cut from my front yard. I cried when they were cut, but I can actually grow things now.

(5,210 posts)I was going to say, you keep the garden, I'll take the pup -- until I read that it's a cat. Cats are good; pups are gold.
But the garden IS beautiful.

(11,681 posts)My little nieces come over and they've built a fairy commune in one of the beds.
One day I would love to open a green house and super garden for special needs kids and grief counseling. Beauty and calm can do wonders for the soul.

(11,681 posts)I wish we had a longer spring here. It's about to get hotter than the gates of hell soon, with snakes crawling.
As long as I keep up the yard, the snakes keep away. Gives me some incentive lol

I've been working on my yard for 16 years, so it's not nearly as grand as it should be. I'm borderline agoraphobic, so plants help me to get outside and moving each day.
Happy Memorial Day to you too!
