Related: About this forumShadow Day is Today this week.
This post is a day ahead of time, because Laurie and I are flying to Connecticut to see my relatives. We'll be gone nine days.
In the meantime
Jolly Ball always starts out as a tug of war. She tugs and tugs then drops the ball for me to pick it up and let 'er fly.

And she chases it down.

Another tug of war begins. (Shadow has sharp teeth.)

Sometimes she just drops the ball and waits, barking, for me to pick it up.

Then off she goes.

Shadow loves her Jolly Ball.

One afternoon we went for a walk in the woods.

She often searches the trees, looking for squirrels.

If she hears something she'll freeze and stare.

Then mosey along.

Always looking.

Sniffing, watching, low to the ground.

Finally she stopped on the pine needles to rest. (We were both ready.)

And when we got home she lay in the shade of Mommy's car.

(11,981 posts)Seriously, you might get a print and frame it. You would cherish it for a long time. It's such a nice pic.
