KC likes to hang out in his cat tree,

and on Mommy's recliner, even if she's not there.

One evening he was relaxing on the dining room table.

He spied a gray round plastic whatchamacallit,

which he promptly knocked down to the floor.

He took a swipe at it,

but it only slid a little way away.

So he wound up and smacked it clear through to the other side of the table.
Whereupon he took a look at what he'd accomplished,

and decided he had had enough of this game.

The round piece was returned to the table top,

and KC settled down on the kitchen floor. Enough excitement for one night.

Such is the lively life of our KittyCat.

(2,080 posts)What an adventurous day for KC and lucky for us, we get to be witnesses! Knocking the plastic whatchamacallit to the floor reminds me of how my Holly knocks every single pen she comes across to the floor. I read an article online the other day about why cats like to knock things off higher surfaces and it said that that's their way of getting attention. Is it true? Maybe so, maybe not. I guess it's as a good a reason as any. Who really knows what goes on in the mind of a cat?
Thank you, George McGovern, for another entry in the KC Chronicles!
P.S. Love KC's cat tree! Looks like he does too!

(28,587 posts)...2 basic techniques:
1. several gentle taps and then a final, more vigorous swat
2. a single mighty swoop
