Poor Guardakitty

It seems the rescue I got him from lied and lied badly. He in not a kitten.

I was finally able to touch him more and found a huge mat in his bib. I could not get it off with a comb and it hurts him in the spot where it was stuck to badly.

I asked the local community for help and they told me to take him to a vet which I did not have a bunch of money for.

I took him to a groomer and she was able to shave that big mat off of him and others near his hind quarters for a small fee being he is from a rescue.

I was told to get a special comb and a special brush for him which I ordered from IAMACON (AMAZON). The items were supposed to be here today but they sent me the wrong things.

I went through hell trying to get through to amazon and I'm done with them. I had a credit balance w/them and that is why I ordered via them.

As if ebay is any better these days. It is filled with fraud tracking numbers and items that are "lost". What a damned joke this country has become!

Did India solve my problems today at amazon? I don't know.

I hope that dear Guardakitty is healing. That was a nasty mat in a very bad place.

He is NOT A KITTEN. He seems to be a 3-4 year old cat and he had a job in the cat colony of 110 he was from. He was the protector of kittens that had no mother. He was their guard!

I don't care how old he is but it angers me that I was lied to about him.

Poor Guardakitty. He knows he is loved here now in his new home and his kitten Nialls is thriving at 10 months old.

I had 400 lbs. of cat litter to deal with the past couple of days and I am exhausted. Nothing is going quite right these days and gee, I sure wish I had my husband around but he is dead and gone.

Fare you well for now.

I'm plain sad about this mess.

I do not know why the rescue lied. I guess they figured if they said he was a kitten, I would adopt him.

He was neglected and not cared for. It is amazing to me that he was able to survive at all!

Some "rescue". That's all I can say.

...where we thought (as did the rescue) that our boy was younger, yet deduced later that he must really have been a couple years old.

Knowing how many rescue cats the place deals with, I think they just guessed and did the best they could. And if part of their guess was based on size and growth, it makes sense to me that a cat from an overcrowded situation would be a bit undersized.

People who are doing animal rescue and fostering these days are up against some bad times, and trying to protect the beings put at great risk thereby.

I'm glad the groomer helped you out, giving your little guy a new start. He might not be a literal "kitten," but now that he's with you, this might actually be his first year in a decent home, with food, warmth, and care.

They should be honest if they know however.

I'm sure this is the first real home he's ever had.

I got lucky!

No one would have adopted a cringing cat in a corner but me. I could not get his face out of my mind and I went back and got him.

He is a real treasure. He never does a thing to make me angry. If you tell him NO, he stops. He also keeps kitten Nialls in check as well. He is still doing his job.

As for adoption, who else but me would have adopted a cat with huge hidden mats on him? Many would have returned him.

I'm very glad I have him, believe me!

Thanks for the positive words. I was so tired yesterday after moving all of that cat litter around. I got a deal on it, that is why so much all at once. Seems I'm set for awhile now however!

I wish my allergies weren't so troublesome and I could go back to having a cat.

Re: IAMACON (nice moniker for them btw), I have never had any trouble returning things for a refund, if it is a returnable item, or getting the refund without even having to return it. (Your item would require return, probably.) Trying to talk to an actual human? That's a mystery I've never solved. Luckily I have about 8 Kohl's stores within reasonable distance - randomly pick a direction and throw a stone and you will hit one, or a CVS - and they take IAMACON returns. (I still buy from IAMACON because despite Bezos current evil streak, they are generally very, very good for what I need - and my reasonable local alternatives donate to Republicans too, while costing me more, and constantly discontinuing or not stocking my staples. Sorry Amazon haters, I have to pick one. Even my local natural grocery is RWNJ run. I do local/blue when I can but there ain't much here and I'm just polluting the air more when I drive around.)

For pet stuff, PetSmart is a good alternative to online ordering, if you are in a place that has them. They'll usually cost more but you can talk to a human and get what you need right away, and be sure it is the right thing. If you're lucky, you're item will be on sale.
