(1,210 posts)The Mercy Carr Mystery Series features a recovering Afghanistan veteran and her recovering military k-9 malinois. Author is Paula Munier. The relationship between dog and owner is well written. I really loved the series. I recognized a malinois last summer based on my reading of the books and googling the breed so I could better picture Elvis, the dog in the book. I was impressed but not surprised that such a dog could bring down an escaped felon.

(9,066 posts)and while we were waiting out walks a police officer with a magnificent Belgium Malinois. Scout was awestruck. She stood looking at him and started trembling. Kinda like me if I ever saw Brad Pitt. Scout is part Pit Bull/German Shepherd/White Swiss Shepherd.
