(135,611 posts)1. Adams and Jefferson died exactly 50 years to the day after the Declaration
of Independence. That, and them dying on the same day, has always interested me. "But Jefferson still lives," Adams is supposed to have said, not knowing Jefferson had died earlier that day.
The fact that Adams was 90, and Jefferson 83. .remarkably long lives in that time.
Did not know about Monroe.
