I am so tempted, and would certainly lose despite creating the world's best poster.
Or because of it.

Heres your opportunity to show off your talent and use your artwork to honor Veterans. VA and the Veterans Day National Committee are now accepting entries for the 2025 Veterans Day Poster Contest. Submissions are due by 11:59 p.m. (EDT) on May 2, 2025.
This contest is open to all, and your art should reflect this years theme: Service to our Nation.
After receiving more than 150 entries last year, Myisha Godette, a retired, disabled Army Veteran from Queens, New York, was selected as the winner of the 2024 contest. In describing her design, Myishas inspiration was the shared experience of service memberspast, present and futurewith elements like the American Flag, military dog tags, and the enduring strength of Veterans, embodied by a solid, dark concrete background in my design.

The winning poster will be distributed to VA facilities, military installations worldwide, and across cities and towns in our nation. It will also serve as the cover of the official program for the Veterans Day National Observance at Arlington National Cemetery on Nov. 11, 2025.

(1,712 posts)It would honor your service, that of your friends, and if I dare say,
It would give permanent life to how your/their service changed your life.
I never served so I feel embarrassed encouraging you, and I hope the spirit of what I'm trying to suggest comes through.
Thank you Sir.

(16,840 posts)I was thinking of something that the maga lords would hate. They are trashing the VA, and trying to privatize it. That's what they call "improving" the service.
That would be a waste of time, but I am sure they would love a poster of immigrants being chained or such.
That said, I'll put on the thinking cap. My Dad was an artist. I can only sketch, but have fun with computer art and photography. No oily brushes to clean up.
Many images I post are my irreverent mash-ups and fakes. Got to have some fun. I don't post many of my photos because that gives them away to image bureaus and AI engines.
The internet is "one tough town"
Thanks for your reply and good words.
