filled in hate
i despise hate though i am constantly filled in hate
always wishing to let it go yet always holding more
dreaming of love if i can but is now already too late
wanting a sign to let me know in a center in a core
desire cleansing forgiveness to wash away the stain
although it may not show dirt covers heart and soul
wiping the sweat and slickness that creates a strain
where it is from i don’t know rough ash black coal
how to understand this hate to force it in clear view
where all can see and avoid to reconcile and learn
and finally close the gate of the place where it grew
in a mind curdled and cloyed as broken cogs churn
is it possible to dam the river from which hate flows
will hate fill our quivers in arrows and taut our bows
