Fairview Park, OH, Police Blotter - Disorderly conduct
On March 26 at 6:20 p.m. officers responded to a report of a physical altercation at the American Legion. When officers arrived, one of the parties involved had already left. The other party was not injured and did not want to pursue the matter.
Prior to police leaving the building, a woman who appeared to be in distress, entered the bar. An officer checked on her welfare and the woman asked for assistance walking to the bar as she was unable to continue on her own. The woman appeared to be extremely intoxicated and was unable to care for herself. When asked if she had anyone at home who could care for her, she said only her husband was home, and he was lying face down on the kitchen floor.
An officer was sent to check on the welfare of her husband at their residence. After several attempts to contact the man at his residence, he finally answered the door. The man was disoriented and confused and also appeared intoxicated. He admitted to falling, but did not recall how and he had soiled himself. An ambulance was requested and the man became combative with paramedics and the officer.
The 75-year-old Fairview Park man was transported to a local hospital for additional care. The 62-year-old Fairview Park woman was arrested for disorderly conduct, intoxication.
