SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) Puerto Rico police said Monday that they arrested a man accused of shooting and killing a dog that had stolen his ball on a golf course at a well-known resort.
Authorities identified the man as Salil Zaveri and said the shooting occurred Saturday at the Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Resort in the north coastal town of Río Grande. Police said he used a 9mm gun to shoot the dog several times.
Zaveri was released on $60,000 bond but his passport and drivers license have been seized. He did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Zaveri is a sales and marketing consultant and the CEO of Zaveri Consulting, LLC.

(6,269 posts)could have just set down a new ball. Right? But we are a vicious species. Does not surprise me. Hope one day he's homeless, hungry, trying to steal food and get what he gave to this dog.

If I remember right, PR has no snakes. That's because long ago Mongoose (Mongeese?) were brought in to eliminate them which they did but resulted in too many Mongoose. Then they brought in dogs to control them which they did but resulted in too many dogs.
I remember lots of dogs and packs of dogs everywhere, feral and otherwise. I don't know if that's the case here or if this is a handgun violation.
I'd never shoot a dog unless being attacked and fearing for my life.
Just saying.

Google curiosity got me and I discovered either faulty memory or what I was originally told. Way too many dogs though: domestic, feral or wild many being aggressive.

I'm going with the witnesses.
