My self published book won Writer's Digest Self Published Books award in mainstream/literary fiction

Last edited Fri Mar 22, 2013, 09:47 AM - Edit history (1)

Really. It's sold fairly well but I'm more interested in going back to writing rather than so much promoting so I'm agent shopping. We'll see what happens!

On edit, I'll out myself. It's called The Last of the Pascagoula. You can find it on Amazon or order it through whatever bookstore. Ingram is the distributor.

I actually enjoyed the process and marketing but I can't keep it up without a savvy assistance.

That award is a very nice nugget for your pitch letter to an agent. I'd say your chances have certainly increased! Way to Go!

I "pitch" this contest to members of the writers group I belong to. Great to know the winner. Keep up the good work, and best of luck with the agent. Keep us posted!

As a novice novelist looking for an agent as well, it is wonderful to hear success stories. Good luck!!

I was thinking that the best way to break into the biz is to enter a contest. That is the only daunting thing regarding self-publishing--getting the word out.
