Louisiana State University womens basketball head coach Kim Mulkey ripped the Washington Post on Saturday over what she describes as a hit piece in which she has threatened legal action if published.
This is exactly why people dont trust journalists and the media anymore. Its these kinds of sleazy tactics and hatchet jobs that people are just tired of. Im fed up, and Im not going to let the Washington Post attack this university, this awesome team of young women I have, or me without a fight, Mulkey said at a news conference previewing the defending national champions upcoming NCAA Division I tournament game.
Ive hired the best defamation law firm in the country, and I will sue the Washington Post if they publish a false story about me. Not many people are in a position to hold these kinds of journalists accountable, but I am, and Ill do it, she said.

Shes awfully supportive of her players, as long as they arent African American lesbians imprisoned in Russia.

She's awful. Good recruiter, mediocre coach. They got lucky & won the title last year, but with essentially the sane team, they're just another team this year. Tells me a lit about coaching ability.

The Kim Mulkey way
The LSU coach holds grudges, battles everyone and keeps winning. But at what cost?

TICKFAW, La. In the two sisters minds, the old house remains as it was: a one-story brick ranch a hundred yards off the road, white fence under two ancient oaks, tin roof long before it all caved in.
Their father built on the farmland he had inherited. Dug a swimming pool, poured the concrete for a basketball court, carved two softball fields into pasture. His two girls, born less than a year apart, would grow up running and hiding and disappearing among the pines.
I just miss the memories, Tammy, the 60-year-old younger sister, says.
Theyre in the backyard in her favorite, shooting baskets with Daddy by starlight. It feels so real, she says. So precious and warm.
