(34,593 posts)Used to be you could count on most games being at least 3 hrs. long and many were longer than that, but now they are shorter by about 20 minutes or so (or so it seems to me).
What irks me is when they mic up a player in the field and yak with him during the game! Or split screen interviews with someone in the dugout. Just show the game!! All that other stuff is too distracting.

(69,808 posts)Two years pre pitch clock the average game time was about 3:06.
In the year & a half since it's 2:37.5.
It did what it was supposed to do.

(117 posts)Actually, I count 15 games today starting at 11:05 am EDT. It's not a lack of games, it's a lack of traditional network access. I was going to suggest a sports pub! But family celebrations are great, too.

used to be lots of baseball on every weekend without having to pay for TV service. 4th of July, Memorial day, double headers
.
An aside, I remember before our kids came along and we would visit Mr. Diamonds folks on a weekend, they would sit there glued to a golf tournament on TV all afternoon

(37 posts)You can watch with a free trial to either. MLBtv usually has a free game on weekends. Not sure if they will today, though. MLBtv App is free also.

(69,808 posts)MLB networks has around 9 consecutive hours of games, and they tend to be a the floor level of most carriers' sports package.
If you mean networks with over air broadcast channels, I guess I'm not surprised that none of them are carrying it.
They seem to only involve themselves with the post-season.
