Personally I never liked being called boy once I reached my teens. I found it derogatory and condescending. I'd imagine other young men, men and older men feel the same. Does that seem reasonable? Hope it does. And thanks for considering my perspective.

I often find myself yelling Well done! or Thank you! If its my team, I know most of their names, so its Thank you, Sean! Since I am a lady of a certain age, I figure I can get away with an occasional Nicely done, darling, or You dont want another foul, honey.
What I yell at officials and announcers shall remain private.
