and am still pissed Alabama, who lost 3 season games, is in the playoff scene AND playing for the

Rose Bowl......good thing they’re playing Indiana, although I would have loved for Notre Dame to be playing, 💚 ☘️ 🍀 Indiana is kicking their ass. Alabama my arse, ugh. They lost 3 times during the season, but ya know EVERYONE wanted Alabama to be in the playoffs.

4. Uggh. I am no Alabama fan, but this is kind of cringe-worthy.

And, while I credit his talent, can I say that I just HATE watching him (Mendoza) run. He is so gawky (albeit effective). Give me the lumbering heavy weight barely-can run defensive back or the jack-rabbit little special teams player, or definitely the graceful, start/stop on a dime and change direction wide receiver. Or any of the other good runner/thrower quarterbacks I'm used to.

He is talented and "gets the job done," so I guess I should listen and not watch. If he goes to NFL or comes back for another college year, I guess I will have to get used to his style of running, but...

5. They also had by far the worst loss of any at large team selected.

They lost to 5-7 Florida State. Nobody else lost to a team with more than 4 losses

Losses by the other at-large teams
Ohio State (Indiana 13-0)
Oregon (Indiana 13-0)
Mississippi (Georgia 12-1)
Oklahoma (Mississippi 11-1, Texas 9-3)
Texas A&M (Texas 9-3)
Miami (SMU 8-4, Louisville 8-4)

6. I'm no Notre Dame fan, but after the performances of Tulane and JMU

in the first round, it’s hard to argue against Notre Dame not being a playoff team.

8. If Notre Dame wanted to get in the plaoff over Tulane or James Madison, then they need to join a conference and win it.

They've always thought they should get special treatment just because they're Notre Dame. Well, the committee treated them like any other team this year so they have no room to complain against anyone other than Alabama.

10. Oh, conference shomference, Notre Dame would have made mince meat of a lot of playoff teams...

12. What part of conference champions get automatic bids don't you understand?

James MAddison & Tulane earned their way into the playoff. Notre Dame didn''t.

Thanks for proving my point. Notre Dame thinks they should get special preference. They shouldn't and they didn't. Tough shit for Notre Dame. They got what they deserved - no playoff bid.

13. Ya know, I kinda like that Notre Dame ISN'T A TEAM THAT NEEDS A CONFERENCE TO FAWKING WIN A TITLE!!!!!

They were ranked 9- 10 in the country, and didn’t even get a bite of playoffs. Sick AND wrong. 🤬 🤬 🤬

11. I just wish they did this current 12 team format during the BCS era

The other conferences such as the Pac 12 could have survived and Notre Dame if they went undefeated or had 1 loss even they would get a bye.

I understand they didn't play well but neither did Alabama in the quarterfinals. Neither did Texas Tech who was also one of the conference champions. I don't think the playoffs should have a Notre Dame exception though I think they have the best running back in the nation. They already changed things enough to give Notre Dame the possibility of a bye but they lost to 2 teams ranked above of them.

...and likely would have beaten ND easily in the Rose Bowl.

The SEC is not as dominant now, and ND needs to join a conference.
