The Hyundai Ioniq 5 Is Stealing Tons Of Buyers From Other Brands

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 earned the top spot in S&P Global's study, which looked at 29 newly released EV models with at least 15 months of sales data. A whopping 74.2% of Ioniq 5 sales—nearly three-quarters—are conquests from competitive brands.

“Other brands”? Or other brand? I purchased a 2024 Ioniq 5 at the end of the year, I had been looking at EVs for some time, and before MUSK revealed him self to be a complete jerk and a fascist POS, I was leaning toward a SwastiCar Model Y The Ioniq is a good car. There are a few things that can be improved. I’d like to see a way to manually precondition the battery for speed charging as opposed to rely on the Nav System to do it. And I wish there were a Dog Mode like SwastiCars have so I can leave my dogs in the back when running into a store with the climate control on (there is a workaround, but is a bit unwieldy). But it’s great to drive, and isn’t a TeSSla.

The one near me is a TeSSla supercharger, and I will not patronize it. I know at some point if I travel far in the car, using a TeSSla supercharger will be necessary. But I’m avoiding it as much as possible.
