Machinists in SW TN...

So gs's friend is rebuilding suspension on his old Forerunner after a huge pothole ripped the wheel off of it.

So this young guy repl wheel bearings with some Chinese junk off Amazon & realized, after paying a small fortune to have them pressed in, that there is an unsafe amt of play in the bearings.

Gs sent him the service manual specs, which indicated the new bearings were not in spec (way out).

As the machinist is now in jail, he called a local machinist, who was nice enough to stop by to take a look.

So the young guy told machinist & likely showed him the service manual tolerances.

Machinist told the kid, "That's your problem. You read a book." Then refused the job.

Gawd...deliver me from this intellectual vaccum!
