Guardians establish an A.L playoff first

The Cleveland Guardians are the first American League team to score five runs before recording an out in a playoff game. It happened against the Detroit Tigers in Game One of the 2024 A.L Divisional Series in Cleveland.

The only other team to do it was the D-backs last year against the Dodgers in an 11-2 win in Game 1 of the NLDS, which they went on to sweep in three games.

Cleveland has to get to Skubal. Whether that's a small ball approach, choking up on the bat, taking smaller swings, being more patient, working counts (and getting him out early) ... I don't know. I do know they can't keep swinging for the fences and being over aggressive. That's killing them.

Vogt can and probably will empty the bullpen today. Only Bibee is untouchable.
