A 30-35 win season is well within reach.

(10,718 posts)Its ownership pure and simple. People still go to the games regardless of the play, so why spend a ton of money putting together a winning team. That is his acknowledged business model.

(872 posts)And the Rockies are advertising home games against the Yankees later this month on Facebook. The Rockies survive by attracting fans of the opposing team. I stopped going to Rockies games against the Cubs years ago because there were more Cubs fans than Rockies fans at the game.

(425 posts)The Rockies are in our division and since 2021 they have finished last in their NL West. Bud Black used to be the manager of the San Diego Padres and even though he's the Rockies manager, Padre fans still love him so it's disappointing for us, as well, to see them losing. Today, the Rockies lost to the Padres 21- 0. Bud Black is a great manager but unless the owners get him players who can pitch, hit, and field their positions they will continue to finish last not only in their division but in the league as well.
Don't fire the manager, fire the owners.

(72,557 posts)...by double digits. The White Sox won barely over 25% of their games last year. The Rockies are winning barely over 1 out of every 6 games!
Yikes, that's bad.
