14 May 1967 - Baseball History

Sunday Afternoon, Mothers Day. Yankee Stadium. Orioles Stu Miller on the mound. Mickey Mantle up to bat. A swing, the crack of the bat. That balls outta here. Number 500 for Mantle. Yanks win. Mantle would hit 36 more home runs before he hung up the cleats.

Was that beautiful or what? Nothing sweeter in sports than a home run swing. Especially one 58 years old. Read a book many years ago about Mantle and Billy Martin. Two freaky party animals back in the day.
