(3,496 posts)It sure wasn't a blow-out like it was both games yesterday. In any case, it's still a W and I'll take it!
On to Milwaukee.....

(2,411 posts)Sounds like a repeat of his neck injury. These guys really arent making it easy for themselves, are they?

(1,227 posts)In 2024, they found a tumor, thankfully benign. He is now facing pain in the same place. They're being very careful (and close-lipped), but it doesn't look good. They won't let him pitch for a month or so, and then they will re-evaluate.
He was having a terrific season, too. Best pitcher on the team. He's a great kid; I hope he's going to be okay.

(2,411 posts)But the immediate story as soon as they took him out of the game was injury or repeat injury. I shattered my knee in a slip & fall years ago (stepping around the rear of my car in a grass parking lot in the rain and managed to step in a foot-deep hole as I turned) and over a decade later, Ive only just reached a point where I feel safe enough to walk without a brace. Gives me the heebie jeebies to think of a neck injury. At least if my knee fails on me, I wont have to worry about being paralyzed. Hopefully, hes young enough to be able to bolster his anatomy and come out stronger in the long run.

According to Brown, the 2024 diagnosis of a benign bone growth (osteoma) in his neck turned out not to be a correct one. So, the task is now to figure out whats actually causing the recurring neck issue and to fix any of the mechanics that may be causing it.
Theres a stress on my bone, something in my throw or in my mechanics thats leading to that, Brown said. Its not a freak injury anymore. Theres something that Im doing thats causing it. Im working night and day to get to the bottom of it. And the people here are, too. As far as career outlook goes, theres almost like a positivity around that, like: Hey, we might be able to figure this out.
