Birders
Related: About this forumSuperb Owl Sunday VII
A special Sunday event: our seventh annual photo collection celebrating such magnificent birds of prey. Not Eagles (nor Chiefs), these nocturnal hunters hail from Europe, Asia, North America, and South America and are depicted here in photos from recent years. If you have some time today before the big game (or are skipping the event entirely), I invite you to have a look.

(3,379 posts)First, great photos. I adore owls, with Barn owls and Barred owls being among my favorites (but I really love them all).
That said....there is an Eagle Owl. It's a real owl. There are no "chief" owls. I'm just saying.....

(19,665 posts)Theyre small n soo cute. People look out for them b/c the builders/developers arent happy having to change their plans n sometimes resort to cruel tactics.

(3,379 posts)They are not native here and I've only seen them in the zoo. They are absolutely adorable. We have cute little guys up here called Screech Owls. You can mimic their call and sometimes they'll anawer.
