65-7 the Bulldogs blew out TCU. You still have to give TCU credit for getting to a place nobody expected. The talent Georgia has is just unreal. Forty years of a drought, then Georgia goes back-to-back.

(2,881 posts)Not sure why Ohio State didn't try to run forward with a minute left to make it a shorter kick (other than the coach is an idiot who has been out coached in the 4th quarter of almost every game against teams of similar talent).
They should have made that a lot shorter kick to prevent the shankapotamus kick the kid choked with.
Hats off to Georgia, but the best game they got was the semifinals.

(4,886 posts)OSU didn't lose that game. UGA won that game. We just had to win it late. UGA outgained OSU 533-467, had more yards in the air (398-348), and had more yards on the ground (135-119). OSU's lead never would have been as big if not for the interception in the 3rd quarter.
Georgia didn't have a good game. OSU had its best game of the season. Georgia still won. Play that game 10 times and Georgia maybe loses once or twice, and blows OSU out 5 times.

(4,886 posts)We're beating the shit out of teams that ran it up on us during our drought.
That time will come, but payback most likely won't happen as long as Smart is coaching at UGA. And he's 45. That revenge is going to be a long time coming.

(4,886 posts)This was supposed to be a rebuilding year for us. We were supposed to have a couple of losses and not even win the conference championship. We've got a ton of very talented experience coming back on defense. It's going to be difficult replacing Stetson Bennett - his mobility gave us a dimension that we won't have the next year, he played better when the stakes were higher, and the team really believed in him. We do have a lot of talent coming back at QB but there's no telling how the new starteer (probably Carson Beck) will play under pressure. Our TE Washington was a hell of a luxury - a 6'7" TE who could block like hell and run like a deer. We'll miss him but I'm very confident in our OC Todd Monken to use what we've got and keep the offense rolling. The defense will be absolutely lights out.
We are a legitimate threat to threepeat. Alabama's fortunes will depend on their new OC and their new QB. OSU will be right up there again, as will Michigan. Oklahoma, Texas, Oregon, Southern Cal, and Clemson are still another really good recruiting class away. Texas A&M has peaked. North Carolina needs a defense in the worst way (as does Southern Cal). LSU will be very good but not great. If our QB turns out well then we'll be in the playoff.
