3. Instant replay was the start of the downfall. You didn't take your eyes off the screen

For ONE SECOND, because you would never see what happened again.
Bathroom break came at halftime, unless your team was up by at least 10.

the "color" commentator which allowed making comments instead of talking about the action. Then the second color commentator so they could both add their opinion. But the worst was the person on the field who couldn't add any more useless info so that person asked inane questions. With 3 or 4 people now, the game has totally been secondary as the talking mouths have the camera on themselves and they miss showing the now less important field action.

need to watch EVERY 2 YARD GAIN four times in a row, from different angles, that meant nothing to the overall outcome of the game????

But I do love me some college football.

Yeah, Jimmy the Greek would talk some about point spreads, but that was a quick segment. Now, whenever I listen to sports talk it is all about the point spreads, and idiots bragging that they can make me money if I just take their advice. They no longer tell you who they think will win, just who will or won't cover (from which, I realize, you can deduce the winner, but you get the point).

It's not just the games, it's the scores. They can't just flip through scores any more. It's stats, stats, stats.

The announcers are annoying, but they are just spitting out what the fantasy players and gambling public wants.
