Football
Related: About this forumHow much football do you watch?
I thought about waiting to start this thread closer to the fall football season but I was inspired by True Dough's ready for some football thread.
I'll start
Living in Arizona I wake up at 9 AM (this is before the clocks change in the winter games start at 10am for college at 11am for NFL) on Saturdays and watch football until Big Ten or Big 12 or maybe even ACC after dark starts. I will even watch MWC after dark. Of course I watch the Thursday and Fridays college football games but we don't plan on getting Amazon this year so we'll be missing out on Thursday night NFL football. After watching 12-15 hours on Saturday I wake up at 10AM and watch the red zone channel unless the Cardinals are on or if there is a really good game on CBS or FOX. For the most part I'll also watch Sunday Night Football and MNF. During October I actually prefer watching MACtion over the World Series that is how much I don't like baseball. Also if I'm lucky after watching college football on Saturday I'll wake up for the London or Germany game at 6 or 7:30 but that is only if I'm really interested in the game.
I don't watch the UFL though I did last watch Canadian football in the summer of 2022 but NBA playoffs, WNBA, NHL are what I normally watch during the spring and summer months.
I also don't watch much high school football if at all.

I do watch some CFL in the summer, but a bit here, a bit there.
I only watched the CFB championship game last year.

(732 posts)My mother loved football- college and pro. Her favorite player was Joe Montana. ☺️
Now Im watching the grandson play and hes very good - but still young and I worry so much about the dangers to his body and brain.
So right now my relationship with football is love/hate.

(34,639 posts)I grew up in a family of sports nuts except for my musical brother and we played music together while the rest of them ran from TV to TV yelling scores to each other. I hate HATE football but the Chiefs with Mahomes and the other guy are fun to watch....sorry Kelsie.
I enjoy them for some reason but once they are gone or become boring to me I will be done. The thing about my family running around yelling scores is true. They would have let our house burn down while finding a transistor radio never thinking about my other brother and me. I avoid sports most of the time except when the Chiefs season is running. As soon as those guys are gone so am I.

(5,592 posts)After those games have finished I'll tune in the other games, but I may do chores or surf the web while they're on. So, it's on all weekend, even if my eyes aren't glued to the screen.
Also, I attend the home games of the local college, so that's a half-dozen Saturdays where I'm gone for some hours watching in person.
