Proj Record: 11-2
Proj Finish 1
Which means I'll crash and burn.
It did tell me I took Patterson too soon.

(4,378 posts)I took Lacy at 6. Before it got back to me, Brees and Manning were gone. I took the top QB on the board, which was Rogers. In the 3rd, all of the top tier WR's were gone. I took Nelson. I figured that for every TD he scored, I'd get 12 pts. (6 him and 6 Rogers). None of these guys are slouches.
I have Brady as a back-up and am only projected to win 3 games.

(22,340 posts)but I had to look way ahead for my almost back to back picks and try figure out what people were doing. I just picked QB, Def, Kicker, TE about a round or two early. The downside is my flex positions aren't as good.
It should be a good season.

(29,348 posts)They said I picked Michael Floyd too soon, maybe relative I did but Cardinals send him deep A LOT which = lots of yards and touchdowns

(4,185 posts)First time I missed a draft and I'm nervous. Have only looked via mobile, but looking forward to raiding the free agents for any hidden gems once I'm at a desk top.
Good luck fantasizers!

(4,378 posts)According to Jon, you can't finish no worse than 9th.

(29,348 posts)Too many unknowns going into this week but I was this || close to starting him. From here on out, could be my best back.

(31,849 posts)decided to go with Ben Tate, instead. While Cleveland has a much improved O-line ... What was I thinking?
Ben, meet bench whether your leg is okay or not.
JonLP24
(29,348 posts)He was questionable since Thursday but he said he was going on to play and all accounts that he likely was a go, last checked 9:30 AM Pacific. He was ruled out after the AM kickoff.
Then Moreno hurts his elbow. I hate running backs. Tate actually had a good YPC but got hurt, West appears to be the main back though but I never know.

(31,849 posts)I sat both Martin (used Fred Jackson) and Moreno (used Ben Vereen) ... And had to pick up Shonne Greene to stand in for A. Peterson.
FF will drive a guy to drink! Wait, it's Sunday afternoon ... I'm going to drink anyway!

(29,348 posts)I was about to use him as an every week starter, I probably still am--only injuries hold him back.
Had Sammy Watkins and Antonio Gates on the bench. Sat them in favor of Allen Hurns and Michael Floyd (which I'm not too disappointed about -- he had 3 great opportunities for an explosive player but they were difficult catches w/ defenders all over him).
I like that I stayed w/ Eric Decker (very rarely would I bench #1 WR at any rate) despite multiple sit-ems. First time I ever saw him was when Minnesota played Cal (who started the season high ranked w/ Jahvid Best). He single handedly kept Cal in the game, he was double, triple covered and still was unstoppable. Hell, he even threw a TD pass in that game but Cal was too much but rarely do receivers just jump out at me in the college game -- Moss was the 1st, Fitzgerald was another, Mike Williams at USC did too. AJ Green definitely did. Eric Decker was another. Very underrated and has a chance to really prove himself as the top wideout target.

(31,849 posts)and have traded to get him in two leagues. Played him today over M. Colston and V. Cruz ... I'm a happy man. He always gets a decent line; but what the hell happened to Colston ... Did he even play?
My best call (I think) sitting Vernon Davis for D. Walker. I can't see Davis putting up 142 and a TD, this week.

(29,348 posts)Giants targeted Patrick Peterson a lot. Led to two penalties on the go ahead scoring drive for the Giants, particularly the PI in the end zone. The refs called a good game in the secondary, flagged Rodgers-Cromartie twice for holding Fitzgerald but held on to it when Peterson incidentally tripped a receiver in the end zone. Giants dropped 5 balls, 3 by Cruz.
I have rule as a Cardinals fan. I don't draft any NFC West players except for Vernon Davis. He is usually available by the time the other TEs are gone and play him every week, even against AZ (when they had Adrian Wilson who struggled against receiving TEs led to big points). Chicago had a very poor D last year and appears Kyle Fuller is the only upgrade who is on the outside. He could do good if the outside receivers aren't getting open.

(31,849 posts)NFL.com, CBS Sports and a FoxSports League with a bunch of friends. I didn't know DU had a league or I certainly would have joined.
Anyway, it looks like I've gone 3-0 this week, with only one match-up within 10 points (the Arizona/SD game gave/is giving me a scare since my opponent has Antonio Gates and AZ DST-I'm currently up 9).
I'm rarely available for the live draft, so I have to hope for the best in the draft and build through trades and the Waiver wire.
I look forward to conversing with DUers about FF.

(4,185 posts)I've been soley cbs based until now.
I'm also convinced that the computer drafts better than I, in that I'm struggling in the other league.

(29,348 posts)I've been trying to get my kicker back, I f'd up doing it after morning kickoff and it still let me make the transaction (I'm used to Yahoo! style). Losing takes out the motivation to make roster moves early in the week and since I'm unclear on how it all works, I go in for scraps but I forgot that kicker played for Minnesota (I told myself no when I asked myself if I needed to worry about lineup changes for the Thursday night game) and I can't seem to do nothing until the editable week is up.
I'm used to Yahoo! firing waivers when making additions & cuts on any player but it seems to only work on bench players or players that haven't been in a game if I'm understanding it correctly.
I've also been looking around and found the keeper selection. 3 is going to be tough. I want to keep Calvin Johnson, Andre Ellington, Michael Floyd definitely but I'll also probably want to keep Sammy Watkins, Doug Martin, and Cam Newton.

(4,378 posts)I do believe a no wait transaction on Wed.

(813 posts)Five weeks in and seven of our ten teams are 3-2.
JonLP24
(29,348 posts)by the time I get there I'll probably still will be outside looking in if I don't rack up more losses on the way to those 2 wins.
JonLP24
(29,348 posts)Palmer threw a couple of TDs (I lucked out and caught that they benched Stanton--didn't like my options at QB this week since the QBs playing the worst pass defenses aren't reliable -- Whitehurst against dead last--Jacksonville) Floyd is having a nice game including a TD. Ellington & Brown are getting decent yardage so I check in at halftime to see my opponent has twice as many points as I do.
I'm thinking of entering rebuilding mode.
BTW - I think Antone Smith RB for the Falcons is the biggest mystery I've ever encounted in fantasy football. He only gets a few touches a game but he breaks one every game. I'm scared to start him, holding him to see if his role increases but I cost myself points since the Atl-TB Thursday night game. If I start him... I don't have much luck in playing the hot hand.
